There’s no direct bus to San Gimignano. First, take a bus to Poggibonsi, then hop on local bus 130.
You can join organized tours from Siena and Florence, which often come with a return trip and sometimes a guide.

San Gimignano doesn’t have a train station. Instead, catch a train from Siena to Poggibonsi, then hop on bus 130. The train ride is 25 minutes and costs around 4 EUR one way.
